March 10th, 2010 No comments

No matter how many times you’ve told yourself, “next year, I’m not going to wait until the last minute”, April 15 still manages to creep up on you. Here’s something that might ease some of that pain. Last minute tax filers have been taking advantage of free online fax services, like MyFax, to send their documents to tax preparers. Their free service, like with many of their competitors, allow you to send a certain number of faxes and/or pages a day. In the case of My Fax, you are allotted two faxes per day of up to 10 pages without going through the fuss of setting up an account or providing a credit card number. Users beware, if you start abusing the free service, they will start asking you to upgrade to the paid version and potentially suspend your free service. With this in mind, procrastinators need to plan a little in advance to ensure their tax preparers get all their documents within the 2 faxes per day of up to 10 pages limit.
