July 27th, 2010 No comments

Best Buy® added MyFax to its list of productivity tools available through the Best Buy Software Installer, making the online fax service available on selected PCs and netbooks sold at U.S. Best Buy stores.  New computers are typically pre-loaded with a bunch of unwanted software, causing a problem called “bloatware”.  As the first major retailer to address the problem, Best Buy came up with Software Installer which gives consumers control over the content on their new or existing computers.   Software Installer lets Best Buy customers select what they want on their PCs or netbooks from an online library of services that they can trial and purchase at their discretion such as MyFax.

Before today, Chinese suppliers had no easy way to have a local U.S. point of contact and enable their prospects and buyers to easily connect to supplier offices in China.  With RingCentral, a buyer anywhere in the world can dial the U.S. phone or fax number listed on the business’ website and the call or fax will be routed to the company’s office in China.  Businesses using this service can also set up custom routing and answering rules to manage time zone differences.

eFax App Now Available Through the Google Apps Marketplace

March 9th, 2010 No comments

eFax announced today that the eFax integrated application is available on the Google Apps Marketplace, Google’s recently launched online storefront for Google Apps products and services.

Domain administrators of Gmail hosted services can now assign and manage eFax accounts directly from the Google Apps Marketplace. What does this mean exactly? It means that it is even easier for domain administrators to setup eFax accounts for onsite staff, remote offices, and mobile users. With eFax, team members can send and receive faxes, including hand-notated documents such as contracts and agreements, from their desktops, laptops, or mobile devices.

One of the benefits of eFax is faxes can be sent and received via email in a wide range of formats, including PDF and TIFF. Another is documents can be stored online for up to two years, and can be tagged and searched for archival or reference. Typing in a file name, hitting search, and letting your computer do the legwork is a lot better than standing knee-deep in file folders trying to search for that document from 2 years ago.
